WELCOME TO LAGOS: BBC2 DOCUMENTARY

There is this sudden buzz on Twitter and Face book about this documentary called Welcome To Lagos which is shown on BBC 2 in the UK.  It is a documentary which goes into some of the people who live in the city of Lagos. They are not the rich and glamorous inhabitants of Lagos shown in the Nigerian movies living in fancy houses and driving flashy cars. These are the real people who struggle day after day to live a stable life and with the little or no resources they have they seem to be suffering and smiling. It shocked me to find out that there are over 16million people who live in the city of Lagos. Lagos is not even as big as the state of California and it has that many inhabitants. The scavengers at the dumpster , the people who sell cattle and those that live in the swampy area called Makoko were featured in the episodes that i watched.
There are lessons that can be learned from this documentary. Everyone wakes up each day to continue their struggle in this life. These men have a lot of challenges and they react to these challenges in such a manner that is boast worthy. I remember one of the men who was a father and had two daughters and what touched me in one of his comments was that he wouldn't mind picking up rubbish in a much more stinkier dumpster for his family. He was determined to make his family live a better life as he was not opportuned to do so due to the untimely death of his mother. Vocal Slender an upcoming music artist picked up trash in order to make a his singing dream come true. With this said i believe that this is a must watch documentary for anyone. If you think you have it that bad, someone probably has it worse. Be thankful. Everyday.

OLD VS NEW TESTAMENT

What happens when a pastor is not getting enough money from the offering to run the church sufficiently and is begging the church to be more faithful in their offering. The pastor gets a response like "Pastor, this 10% thing is in the Old Testament, that one has gone with Moses" Yeah all those laws of Moses, haven't they gone somewhere. The Pastor renders a heart warming smile " Brother, yesterday i heard you praying to the prayer from the Old Testament No weapon fashioned against me shall prosper"
Good food for thought.
Sometimes i don't know if Christians read their Bible or buy one just to own it. For real

TATTOOS

"So I had this real cute boyfriend, this guy was so fine, nice body, one that you would die for (for real). We were so in love with each other that i tattooed his name on my lower back. In big bold letters i tattooed the six letters of his name. A year later we broke up and i was dating this dude, he knew the story of my ex ,but why is his name still lingering on my lower back? If the old relationship was over his name should not be on my lower rear. I need to have laser surgery to take it off. The laser surgery would cost more to do than how much i paid for the tattoo but this new boyfriend of mine is not having it."
Sounds like so many people i know. I really don't like tattoos, i think they are very tacky especially when some people have tattoos on every part of their body that its ridiculous. They can be really cute on some people and the ones i have acknowledged so far and pretty much like is Rihanna's tattoo, the one that's on her neck and goes across. Another tattoo i like is the one that's made around the ankle like a bracelet.  If i had to get a tattoo i don't know where i would get one, it might be a secret one for just myself to see or a show off one on my arm it may be really minimal.I won't put anyone else s name on my body except mine or a sibling or a parent or child but that of a boyfriend. No way. It is certainly going to cost her more money to remove the guy's name than how much it cost her to put it on herself. That makes no economical sense to me. Like really.

SUNDAY'S BEST IN NIGERIA-KIRK FRANKLIN

Kirk Franklin went to Nigeria to pick only one contenstant to Come to America. The singing competition, a better version of American Idol. The judges are Donnie McCulkin, Kim Burrell and Muyiwa Olarenwaju all gospel singers. The multitude of people who stood outside in the triple digits went in there to hear "Yes" or "No" View the video.Muyiwa Olarenwaju is actually a worse judge than Simon Cowell in my own opinion. He just made curt comments and cut people off. That was totally rude and unnecessary and I am glad that sometimes the other judges disagreed with him. It was good to see Funmi Oduyemi and yes i sure do love her shoes.................. That guy that was trying to sing, the one who reminded Kim Burrell of Michael Jackson had me cracking up."He touched me". There were a lot of funny stuff on the show but it was good to know that all the contestants were having a good time.I also saw an old classmate Ibiyemi Ipaye. Hmmm.Watch and be the best judge.

THE NEW IPAD

I don't know what anyone else thinks but I totally, totally love the new Ipad. It just has all the features I need and much more and I can download more apps so that means I can't complain of boredom because Apple products  have found a way of keeping one very busy with all those incredible applications and their products. I visted the bookstore at my school and went to take a good look at it and its an incredible little gadget. It looks just like an Iphone or Ipod Touch but is the size of a laptop screen. I love the fact that it is thin and really light so i can take it around with me. The only thing i am scared of is, what will happen if i drop it, the screen will crack and a new one will be calling.  Overall i  give it 8 out of 10.It is user friendly.(if you love computers and tech gadgets). It is similar to an Iphone or I Touch if you have one. I like, it is something i will consider buying but i think i will wait until the second generation ones come out.
